Symposium: New perspectives for sacred spaces – touristic use of churches and monasteries

Aim: This symposium highlights solutions to the challenges of vacant or underutilised sacred spaces and shows the potential for tourism use. The focus will be on examples of the development of diverse offers as well as successful collaborations and their implementation.

The symposium is aimed at managers from churches and monasteries, tourism organisations, heritage conservationists and experts from the fields of cultural tourism and regional development. Meet in an inspiring monastery setting and discuss with us how sacred buildings can be revitalised for the future and how their cultural heritage can be sustainably safeguarded.
