Solutions for employee apartments in tourist communities, Many mountain tourism communities are struggling with a housing shortage - especially for seasonal employees. This makes it difficult to recruit skilled workers and jeopardizes the added value of tourism. As part of the ARE's Sustainable Development 2023-2024 funding program, solutions are being developed in a participatory process, tested in practice in three pilot municipalities and then processed. The results are available to all municipalities and relevant stakeholders.

Numerous tourist communities in the mountain region are currently confronted with the problem of housing shortages. One aspect is the lack of living space for employees of tourism businesses, most of whom are employed on a seasonal basis. The housing shortage makes it difficult to find suitable skilled workers. There is a lack of transferable solutions. The project is therefore creating an overview of existing solutions. Approaches are being tested directly in practice in three pilot municipalities. The results will be processed and made available to all municipalities and other stakeholders.
This project was submitted and approved as part of the ARE's Sustainable Development 2023-2024 funding program on the topic of "Sustainable Living".
