We specialize in managing complex projects and product development. We design, think, and work with a firm commitment to a multidimensional approach: tourism, architecture, culture, and communication complement each other seamlessly in our projects as well as within our team.
What Does Placemaking Mean at gutundgut?
For us, placemaking goes far beyond traditional destination management. It is the user-oriented development of places with genuine character. At its core is a thorough understanding of a place in all its facets. We view placemaking as a mutually beneficial process in which stakeholders and the local community pull together to guide destinations into the future and give them new significance.

Who is behind gutundgut?
Behind gutundgut is a multifaceted, interdisciplinary team led by three partners: Rafael Enzler (tourism), D. Nadine Fernández (cultural management), and Christian Müller (architecture). Our core team of project leaders and managers is dynamically complemented by our extensive network of associates. These external experts from a wide range of fields—from geography and digitalization to park rangers—bring targeted foresight, dynamism, and genuine added value to our clients.

Our expertise is divided into five key areas:

What services do you offer in the tourism sector?
We develop holistic tourism solutions. These include location analyses, strategic tourism and regional development, product development, as well as hotel concepts and hotel marketing.
Does gutundgut also offer architectural services?
Yes, architecture is an integral part of our value chain. We provide architectural support for projects of various scales—from the design of individual vacation rentals and hotel planning to complete recreational facilities and site repurposing.
How does gutundgut support the transformation of sacred spaces and sites? We support church congregations, public agencies, and investors in the economic and social reorientation of historic buildings. Building on the value of existing structures, we develop repurposing concepts that unite architecture, culture, and modern social needs.
How do you provide support in the areas of marketing and communication?
We ensure that visionary projects are understood. We assist our clients with market analysis, stakeholder communication, and strategic positioning so that the message reaches its target audience efficiently and effectively.

We work with cantons, cities, and municipalities; tourism organizations; church parishes; as well as private site developers, foundations, and hoteliers.
At what stage of a project should gutundgut be involved?
We add the most value when we’re involved right from the ideation and strategy phases to establish a solid foundation. However, we’re equally capable of taking on the role of project manager in ongoing projects, organizing resources, securing budgets, and setting milestones.
